I am a bit of a rebel. Be it a roll-following rebel, I still like to go against the grain a bit.

I started my journey to work from home back in 2004. I had no idea what I was doing or how I was going to generate income from home. Long hours of research and many failed attempts later I still wasn't where I wanted to be. 
In an attempt to make my life as a mom and wife easier, I set out to design a custom planner. Our family of six had a lot happening, and I was going bonkers trying to find a way to keep track of it all. None of the planners on the market met my needs. Throwing my hands in the air, I started drawing up a custom planner and designing it in Adobe InDesign.
InDesign came with a massive learning curve, but I stuck with it and came out with a great planner and a new skill. 
At first, it felt like all the time I had dedicated to learning InDesign had only served me personally until this new world of making money with art came to my attention. 
I was a bit surprised to find that I could take the skills I'd learned from making my planner and turn them into a published book or create patterns and license them to companies for stationary, fabric, clothing, and even disposable diapers.
I was hooked. 
I have been honing my drawing and illustrating skills ever since licensing and publishing my art. 
When I revamped my website I decided I would start sharing ways I've navigated being a mom and built my career as an artist. It gives me great pleasure to welcome new artists to this world and see them succeed.
