Being an artist is all about creativity and skills.
You need the passion to turn all your ideas into art and the skills to make the art.
Enter SkillShare.
Skillshare offers various classes taught by artists and professionals in areas like drawing, painting, design, photography, and more.
I love SkillShare because it is an entry-level platform for new artists to try new skills and media before investing $$$ into specialty training courses.
You can try drawing, painting, watercolors, digital art, pattern design, and more.
This benefits us as artists in many ways.
First of all, the entry cost. SkillShare (at the time of writing this) offers a free trial so you can get your feet wet and try out the platform. The free trial lets you view everything they offer, including offline learning.
All the classes are taught by artists as well. With several different people teaching on the same subject matter, you can collect several gems from various artists to make your workflow easier.
There is also a way for students to submit work and receive feedback from the instructors and fellow students. This community of artists encourages one another and helps you know that your learning journey is not happening alone.
With the platform’s design, you can learn on your schedule and at your own pace. If your life is hectic from 9 to 5 and you have kids waiting for you when you get home, you can fit in a class after the kids are in bed and still make progress towards your art goals.
Not only are there art classes on the platform, but there are classes that can help you with your business, including social media management, networking, and product photography. There are even classes on starting an Etsy shop and how to monetize it.
Speaking of monetization. With SkillShare, you can create your own classes as an artist, upload them to the platform, and make passive income.
Once your skills are ready to be shared with others or you have a topic you are already highly knowledgeable in; you can create your own class.
This platform is a beautiful way for artists to share their knowledge and make money while still creating art.
SkillShare is how I got started on my artist journey. Here is a short list of some of the artist’s classes I took.
This is a tiny list of artists I have learned from over the years.
When you are ready to join the thousands of fellow artist taking their skills to the next level, check out SkillShare. It is where I got my start, and I know you will find value in the platform.
Until next time, Happy Creating.
